The Simons Foundation Open Interval program supports trios of an artist, scientist and arts organisation to spend several months in open-ended collaboration around the theme of turbulence. Awarded trios receive USD 30,000. The 2027 program runs April to December and does not require a predetermined artwork or end product. Applications close 21 October 2026.
Applications must come from a complete trio: an artist, a scientist and a representative from an arts organisation. Trio members should be regionally co-located in the United States and able to collaborate in person.
